I found me a new artist....This is my new tattoo artist his name is Danny Dunbar he works at Prix in Pasadena. He hooked me up with some new ink and I love it. He will be finishing my right arm sleeve. Finally I will finish it.
Since I will be in Seirra Madre the next few weekends I will be able to get some new ink done. The end of the month is Musink a tattoo and music convention that's going to be a blast.
Well I'm off to run Rocky Raccoon 100 this weekend so please send me positive vibes. I hope my Tattoo with my favorite T.S Eliot quote makes me feel strong.

Danny poking me real good :)
New tattoo.Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.
Love it!!! Thanks Andy for waiting 3 hours while I got tattooed.

I'm back....I was in So Cal, Seirra Madre to be exact. I was hanging out at my friend Andy's place. I took these photos on 13 mile run up on the Mount Wilson trail. I love this little gem of a trail. It's on a single track trail ,with awesome veiws. The second oldest footrace takes part on this trail. Dipsea of course being the oldest, and the Mount Wilson trail being the second. I ran all the way to Manzaneta ridge, which is mile 80 of Angeles Crest 100. It was the first time I had ever run there when I wasn't in the race. I think I prefer it in the day when I'm fresh.

Me getting ready to roll!
I'm heading all the way up there.
Cool shot on the heli. pad.
Mile 80 of Angeles crest. I always take a 3 min. break on that bench during the race. I'm sure a lot of you have ;)

I believe every phase I have went through in my life has shaped me into who I am, whether it was good or bad it brought me to the point I am at now. I believe life is one big test..We are always being tested sometimes we pass with flying colors, other times we fail in a big way.
I learned long ago that when I fall down I don't stay down, I get up and get going again. Live & learn.
I'm always learning about who I am and what I want.
I decided along time ago, it's better to be single ,instead of forcing myself into relationship with someone just so I had someone in my life.
That's not always good. You usually end up with someone for the wrong reasons.
At this point I want to only end up with someone for the right reasons.

People ask why do you do crossfit this is why I do crossfit.
This is a healthy ultrarunner/crossfit body.
This picture a very unhealthy me!!!
This is a picture from a sad time in my life. Is it obvious I had a eating disorder??? This is what was my fat phase, that was my sick thinking. I weighed 93 pounds in this picture I actually got down to 82 pounds. This was not a good time. I could of easily died. Extreme exercising and running and not eating was not a good mix.
I once again went on to beat this disease after a 3 year battle.
I posted this because I know most of us woman battle weight issues..
If we learn to love ourselves, we won't end up like I did in this picture.
I look at it and it makes me sad, but makes me happy that I can finally love who I am. This picture was taken 10 years ago.
Today remember to love who you are.

New beginnings or the possibilities of a new start are soon to be presented. Use your inner magician to pull together all the components of what soon will be in the offing, as you should now be able to manifest your hopes, dreams and desires. Remember you are only at the beginning, the first stages of development, so the more you are able to accept the more will be given to you. © Stephen Haynes

WoW my wisdom card is so dead on. I feel a new cycle begining, I feel the shift in my universe and it's going to be a good one.
Life is so powerful so we should take advantage everyday of being alive. We are all lucky to be here we should love our life.
We never no when our journey will end on Earth.

These are just a few shots of me during the Fremont Fat ass 50k. I will post times & pictures tonight at
Still waiting on times from a couple early starters. We had awesome weather and everyone had a good run.
I'm totally thrilled with my time 5:44 over an hour faster then last year. I still can't believe I ran that well after getting beat down at HURT.

You know me gotta pose. Niles turn around point.
Me doing a Gene Simmons impersonation at a water stop.
Super happy FFA 50k finisher.

Get ready, I repeat, get ready, as the wheel is about to turn and an old cycle end and a new cycle begin. A new way of doing things is about to commence. The struggle will now be over as life rapidly turns into something much better. Sometimes there has to be havoc and chaos while a new order is established. Don’t get stuck on how it ought to be, let things go the way they will - this will bring you much good fortune. Don’t forget to say thank you for this chance to begin again.

Fun in the Mud!!! Pictures from the HURT 100. Photos by akabill

Catra leading Andy, who later went on to kick my ass at the HURT 100, and who finished the 100 mile race.
Believe it or not, this was a good runnable section. Yeah, right!!!
Me after many falls, just trying to suck it up and not be a sissy, and finish at least 100k. Look at all the mud on me, and it only got worse.
I’m sure you have heard the expression, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’. How true that is right now so do not judge conditions by their appearance. New opportunities, new possibilities, or possibly a second chance, are just around the corner. All things are cyclical and evolutionary, just like the caterpillar turns to a chrysalis, so the chrysalis becomes the butterfly - each serving its purpose, each part of the other, so understand our own lives also operate in this evolutionary or metamorphic way. Keep an open mind and the truth will be clear, you will be shown the way.

My HURT 100 mile hero, Andy Kumeda. He sucked it up, and stuck it out and finished the 100 miler. You rock!
Andy & I posing and having fun at the airport. We had so much fun in Hawaii after the race together. Oh and Happy Birthday Andy, 40 never looked so good :)
Me kicking up my heels along the Alameda creek trail the home of the Fremont fat ass 50k.
It's freak'n cold..But still I can have fun.
Really Chris, my kipping pull-up is not that funny. It gets my chin over the bar so don't laugh.
It took me along time to get the kipping pull-up. Let see 5 months ;)
Do not put yourself in a situation that will compromise you or your values. It is frankly better to do without than accept compromise. Examine what it is that you want - perhaps what you want is not necessarily what you need. This is a time for improvement and betterment but you must clear away the old to make room for the new. Where there is a will there is a way, learn to operate in new ways and develop your strength of will. © Stephen Haynes

I think my shoe's tell it all. The story of HURT 100 08.
So yeah I only ran 100k. But I'm fine with that option. The course was in the worst conditions, i have seen, the 8 years I have run it. I fell at least 6 times.
By mile 22 I was ready to bail. I hurt my hip, knee and back. I was not having fun but knew I could not quit. I knew in my heart by the middle of the second loop I would just do the 100k option. I was so sore, my back was really hurting so I was taking what I thought was advil 2 every 3 hours but I got the aleve mixed up with advil. So I was taking way to much and my stomach was getting torn up.
Even though I had issues out on the trail, I got to meet some very cool people this year. Everything happens for a reason.
Big John hooked me up with my awesome and badass 16 year old , pacer Haley(seen here in the picture) She's a cross country state champ on Oahu. She had never gone 20 miles before. She was an angel. She was with me for 9 hours. I got her thinking about running a marathon. I know by the time she was done pacing me she wanted to get tattoos and a peircing. I will for sure have out pacing me 20 miles again next year.
It rained a lot and the course was muddy, slippery and sloopy. I had to focus just to stay up right. I have been through so much in my life in the 8 years since I have run HURT 100. I have a love hate relationship with the course. For some reason the Cure's song just like Heaven played in my head a lot. I even played it over and over on my MP3 player to keep me going, which it did.
This year I got really bad blisters on my heals. I hope they heal in time for the 50k this weekend.
Tomorrow I will get a massage and I will see what I need to do to be ready to roll in 2 weeks for Rocky Raccoon 100.

Joel was the man. Seen here fixing my feet at the finish. I just want to thank all who helped with the race. You guys & gals all rock.

Thanks to my niece Tiffany and my 2 mile pacer Julia for being my biggest supports out there. Even though I felt like I let you guys down. I know, I know, get over it :)

At least Julia you got a whole extra day to work on your tan.

Me looking fresh at the start.
Me looking totally worked at the finish.
Yes, I do have tattoos under all the mud!!!
Running shoes? Nope these are my mudders. Can you even see my dirty girl Gaiters?? I'm glad I had them on.
Happy 24 hour 100k finisher....Thanks to all my friends and supporters of my blog who all kept me going to the 100k mark. It's the kind words I read each day from you folks who keep me pushing along. I love all of you.

"Show me how you do that trick The one that makes me scream" she said "The one that makes me laugh" she said And threw her arms around my neck "Show me how you do it And I promise you I promise that I'll run away with you I'll run away with you"
Spinning on that dizzy edge I kissed her face and kissed her head And dreamed of all the different ways I had To make her glow "Why are you so far away?" she said "Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you That I'm in love with you"
You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Strange as angels Dancing in the deepest oceans Twisting in the water You're just like a dream
Daylight licked me into shape I must have been asleep for days And moving lips to breathe her name I opened up my eyes And found myself alone alone Alone above a raging sea That stole the only girl I loved And drowned her deep inside of me
You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Just like heaven
Pictures from my fun week in Hawaii.

This Song was stuck in my head this week end.
I come home in the morning light My mother says when you gonna live your life right Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones And girls they want to have fun Oh girls just want to have fun The phone rings in the middle of the night My father yells what you gonna do with your life Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one But girls they want to have fun Oh girls just want to have That's all they really want Some fun When the working day is done Girls - they want to have fun Oh girls just want to have fun Some boys take a beautiful gir lAnd hide her away from the rest of the world I want to be the one to walk in the sun Oh girls they want to have fun Oh girls just want to have That's all they really want Some fun When the working day is done Girls - they want to have fun Oh girls just want to have fun,They want to have fun,They want to have fun...

I leave tomorrow for Hawaii. I'm excited about running HURT 100. It's going to be FUN!!!!!!
I believe you can track me through the HURT web-site during the race. I'm bib #15. Please send me all the positive vibes you can this weekend. I will need them :)

Mr. Rocky waking up from a long nap.
A time for remembering...........For everything there is an appointed season, And a time for everything under heaven- A time for saring, a time for caring. A time for loving, a time for giving; A time for remembering.
I love you Mom & Dad and Peggy! I will kick some butt at HURT for you. I know you will be with as you always are.
There is one thing I know for sure in my life, and that's my little dog Rocky loves me very much, and he always is so happy to see me ;)

Let balance be your watchword, for every win there is a loss and so it follows that every loss begets a win. Unforeseen changes and unexpected occurrences will ultimately be favourable. It is easy to say, and yet powerfully true, that when faced with a problem the best way through is to deal with it. Running away or avoiding problems only brings them back later on. The law of balance is an immutable universal law, so understand that the ebb and flow of life is an intrinsic part of our strength and character building. © Stephen Haynes

For 8 years I have been wanting to run over the Dumbarton bridge and back. Today I did, I did run over the bridge and back. I have driven back and forth over that bridge for the last 8 years working in Palo Alto.
Today was my last long run before HURT 100. I wanted to run 15 miles, so Mike and I laced up our running shoes, and went out on a mini adventure. We started at Don Edwards preserve. We ran all the way to the end of the pier, which use to be the old road to the bridge back in the day. There were lot's of people fishing.
We then ran back and headed up and over the bridge to Menlo Park and back.
The weather was awesome.

Mike & Catra kicking up their heels along the levee.
Me pointing out where we are heading up to the bridge...WOO HOO!!!
Don't worry, I wasn't planning on jumping . Just posing that's all ;)
Happy camper I am. After all these years I did it!!!! I ran over the stinking bridge. Thanks Mikey for coming out.
You should always make time do what you love. I love climbing and when I see something to climb, I'm on it!!!!

Persevere and direct your energy towards your goals. If you do this and truly believe in what you’re trying to achieve you will be given the power to succeed. Sometimes obstacles should be seen as a test - pass the test and overcome the obstacles and success will be in your grasp. If you are feeling challenged right now examine whether it is due to misunderstandings or perhaps a mistrust. Opportunities will arise to resolve your situations. © Stephen Haynes

I know I always say I hate running on the road.
Hate is a ugly word so let me change it by saying, I don't like running on the road. Well i changed my mind on that today as I ran twice on the road today. Once from the dealership to drop off my Nitro and once to pick it up. 12 miles of road.
I love to run, so why should I care where I have to run, since I love running. I prefer trails, but the roads is where it all started for me. Going back to the begining is good so you can fall in love again with something you do. Not that I ever fell out of love with running. It's good to challenge yourself and running on the road is a challenge.
I had to avoid being hit only three times and I forget that I'm not your typical runner girl. So out on the road I sure get a lot of attention from the passing cars speeding by, giving double takes and people on the oppsite side of the road ,practiclly getting whip lash to get a second look.
It's not everyday you see a multi-colored hair, Tattooed & peirced chick, running down the road in a skirt. At least on the trail I know most the hikers and for the most part once I run over the peak I don't see anyone. Central ave Over pass.
Road runner Catra stopping to text Jerry back, Hey it was important. He was texting me about a kettlebell ;)
Road shot. This one is worth millions since it's a rear collectors photo.

Crossfit One world. Chris & me, doing two WODs today.
This one's called Diane.
Sometimes you just don't ask. What you see at crossfit stays at crossfit.
No we are not practicing some new, weird, kinky sex positions, it's just another day at the box, getting it on crossfit style.
